NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO

Northwestern Ontario

This is nature’s playground. Lose yourself in the forests inhabited by moose, bear and deer, or in the angler’s paradise of lakes and rivers. The lush tree cover provides ample food and shelter to allow these species to thrive and grow. And grow they do. Here, you’ll find some of the best big game hunting in the province, with success rates per hunt ranking more highly on a consistent basis than many other US and Canadian hunting locations.

Given the number and variety of waterways in this region, bird hunters have the benefit of the migration flyway for many species of waterfowl. Duck and goose hunting hits a peak during September and October when the birds begin to make their winter move. If you prefer the sensation of ground birding, explore the possibilities presented by ample ruffed grouse.
